Function Overview: 

Reporting to the VP of the SoCal Office Technologies Technology Group, the Solutions Engineer will provide pre-sales technical support for connected multi-function printers, wide format products, as well as all of the Solutions based offerings.  This position will focus on three SoCal Sales branches, but could work with the entire Sales team.  The overall goal is to assist the SoCal Sales team in meeting their branch revenue, Solutions, Revenue and gross profit targets. 

 

Responsibilities Include: 

  • Provide pre-sales technical support relating to the defined Software Solutions (Imaging, document management software, fax servers, advanced scanning, security software, bar-code software, accounting software and print management software.)
  • Privide pre-sales technical support relating to hardware (digital multi-function devices, network printing, color, connectivity, basic scanning, and print drivers)
  • Support Sales Reps on a minimum of 10 qualified sales or solutions calls per week
  • Work closely with CDIA to propose and deliver Statements of Work based on customer requirements, professional services, and technical specifications. 
  • Provide customer workflow analysis to propose Documant Management Solutions
  • Attend regular sales staff meetings
  • Attend the regular monthly Solutions Group meetings
  • Submit required documentation on a timely basis
  • Utilize the Solutions Group tools to facilitate internal communication
  • Escalate technical issues to the appropriate technical personnel

 

Requirements: 

  • Bachelors Degree or completion of relevant post secondary technical and networking training programs.  Extensive field experience and confirmation of expertise can be substituted
  • Preferably ten yeard of field and corporate experience specifically relating to pre-sales technical support, or technical solution sales
  • Specific knowledge of network printing and scanning applications including color prinitng, scanning and storage. 
  • In depth knowledge of the most widely used network and workstation operating systems, including networking interface standards.  This includes the Microsoft platform, Novell, Unix, AS/400 and MAC.
  • Ability to communicate technical information effectively in verbal, written, and graphical formats.  This includes the ability to give "C-Level" presentations. 
  • Knowledge and expertise of Document Management and Imaging systems. 
  • Knowledge of LAN and WAN architectures
  • Knowledge and expertise of data base and data communications software
  • Some driving in the Greater Los Angeles Area will be required
